Cortex Browser Extension Privacy Policy

Cortex is a browser extension used by approved POM AI teammates and client devices to help connect a local browser session to the OUROBOROS/Cortex setup tools.

What the extension does:

• Helps users run account and device setup checks.
• Connects to a local native helper installed on the user's computer.
• Writes or verifies local setup/profile information needed for OUROBOROS/Cortex access.
• Helps confirm whether the user's setup is connected correctly.

What the extension does not do:

• It does not sell user data.
• It does not collect browsing history.
• It does not read arbitrary websites.
• It does not run arbitrary shell commands.
• It does not access passwords, payment details, or unrelated browser content.

Data handled:

The extension may handle the user's account email, selected runtime, local setup status, and diagnostic setup results. This information is used only to complete setup, troubleshoot connection issues, and confirm that OUROBOROS/Cortex access is working.

Local native messaging:

The extension communicates with a local native messaging helper. That helper only accepts approved setup actions such as doctor/check and provision/connect. It is not a general command runner.

Data storage:

Setup/profile information may be stored locally on the user's machine. POM AI may use diagnostic reports shared by the user to troubleshoot setup issues.

Third parties:

The extension may help connect the user to approved POM AI / OUROBOROS / Cortex systems. We do not sell personal information.
